The Impact of WBGB 2023

Last fall, Wear Black, Give Back broke fundraising records in its fourth year, solidifying this tradition on the Omaha campus. Gifts made during Wear Black, Give Back support student scholarships, faculty development and mentorship, experiential learning, innovative research and access to a world-class education. Thank you so much for the impact you’ve made and the lives you’ve changed!

“Wear Black, Give Back definitely provides Maverick Maniacs with more opportunities than we would usually have. I’m so thankful for our donors. Not only are they helping our group, but I think they’re also helping UNO in general by helping to provide school spirit and hyping up other events and student organizations on campus.”
– Casey Wells, Maverick Maniacs president

“Wear Black, Give Back has become a special event for our Mavforensics team as we continue to be blown away by the support received for our students and program each year. Our students combine art and advocacy to make a real difference in the world, and this year, we could make that ‘world’ dream a reality by traveling to Dublin, Ireland, to compete internationally! That was the focus of our 2023 Wear Black, Give Back campaign.”
– Amanda VonGoodrich, co-director of Mavforensics

“Wear Black, Give Back has been a great opportunity for us to spread American Sign Language awareness, deaf awareness, and just getting students involved in our organization. We’re so thankful for the gifts made toward our organization during Wear Black, Give Back.”
– Bri Eilderts, Allies for Sign Language member

Finally, the hashtag #WearBlackGive back collected hundreds of photos, videos and messages from UNO supporters showing their school colors and expressing their pride in being a UNO Maverick.
